Home Blessing Rituals
Many cultures bless a home and the people who live in it. People ask for a home blessing when they move into a new place, welcome someone new, or want a calmer start after a hard time.
A home blessing expresses hope for peace, rest and good days under your roof. Asking for one does not mean anything is wrong with your home or your family.
What the ritual involves
In many traditions, a home blessing uses water, herbs, salt or smoke at the doors, windows and corners of a house, with prayers for the people who live there. Shakir explains the materials, each step and any precautions before the blessing begins.
Shakir asks who lives in the home and what you want the blessing to mark, such as a move, a new baby or a fresh start.
Shakir can come to your home in person or carry out the blessing remotely, wherever you live. How long it takes depends on the home and the blessing, and is agreed at the start.

Common questions
Does asking for a home blessing mean my home is cursed?
No. Home blessings are a normal part of many cultures. We will never tell you that your home or your family is cursed or under attack.
Will Shakir come to my home?
Shakir travels and can come to your home, depending on your situation. The blessing can also be done remotely, wherever you live. You choose what suits you at the consultation.
Is a home blessing only for a new home?
No. A home can be blessed at any time, for example after a hard year, a loss, or a change in who lives there.
Does a home blessing replace locks or alarms?
No. A blessing is about faith and hope for peace. Please keep your usual safety steps, such as locks, alarms and smoke detectors.
